Located in the leafy, affluent neighborhood of Holland Park, Edera is a charming  Italian restaurant well known for its warm hospitality and simple approach to Italian food. Over the past 10 years a loyal friendship has evoled into an excellent business partnership between Roberto Pisano, General Manger of the London Fine Dining Group and John De Stefano, Chairman of the group. With John’s support and Roberto’s many years managing some of London’s finest restaurants, the co-owners have created a local gem. The restaurant evokes a sense of rustic comfort, with its warm design and earthy details. The atmosphere is relaxed and diners are encouraged to linger over a seasonal menu that features an artful blend of traditional Italian classics as well as signature specialties from Roberto’s native Sardinia. Signature Sardinian dishes include Spaghetti with Bottarga, homemade Malloredus Pasta with sausage, tomato and pecorino cheese, Sea Bass baked in salt crust and for dessert, the addictive Seadas – little fritters stuffed with sweet ricotta cheese, served warm and drizzled with fragrant honey. For truffle lovers, both black and white truffles are available seasonally. Roberto’s thoughtfully selected wine list features reasonably priced wines from all regions of Italy, including some special selections from Sardinia. Whether you are a local just popping in for a quick plate of pasta and a glass of wine or want to spend the evening celebrating a special occasion, Edera is conveniently open all day Monday to Sunday. With Roberto as gracious host and a skilled front of house team, Edera is considered by many as a home away from home.

Have not been to the restaurant for a few years, but was pleased to see the same familiar faces and even more pleased to be remembered. Was offered my habitual table and an aperitif on the house. Melanzane parmigiana was excellent as was my risotto con bottarga (Sardinian speciality). We had truffle coated main course, I was amazed how much truffle was shaved onto the dish, fortunately we were not charged by the gram like you are in some allegedly more exclusive restaurants. Finished the meal with a chocolate desert and a glass of Barolo Chinato. If you are adventurous it is really spectacular. Almost forgot, have a great selection of Italian regional wines, try the Reds from abbruzzo - excellent value and the capichera robust and powerful white from Sardegna. The service was ever attentive and cordial. Has to be one of my favorite restaurants in London.
