History of Agrumia
On the one hand you have Cousin Gino Amato, a pioneer in the production of Limoncello with an artisanal liqueur laboratory in the beautiful territory of Ravello, on the Amalfi coast. His aim was to recreate the ancient recipes of Italian tradition, starting with liqueurs and then expanding into a series of delicatessen products – with a core focus on the Amalfi coast and citrus fruits.

It was due to Cousin Gino’s effort, as well as those of other lemon growers in the area, that the Italian authorities have recognised the P.G.I. standards – lending the Amalfi coast even more fame.

Amici Miei

Since moving to London over 10 years ago, Cristian Nocco has worked in restaurants. He’s always been in love with his job, which doesn’t come as too much of a surprise because all his family are in the trade too. Starting as a kitchen porter, then waiter, then training as a pizza chef and finally – aged 22 – he became a partner in several north London Italian restaurants. Now a restaurateur himself, many of his customers have become his closest friends. He met his wife, Lara, when she came into one of his restaurants with her college friends and now they have a beautiful daughter.

When Lara and Cristian discovered that the vacant space next to their Due Sardi pizzeria,  was available, they just had to fulfil their dream. The name of the new venture says it all: Amici Miei – my friends. They’ve created a space where customers can feel relaxed, enjoy company as if they were in their own kitchen, eat simple but delicious food. After all, Shoreditch was crying out for authentic Italian home cooking….

Golden Nectar

In our family for the past five generations, our olive grove counts some 200 trees, most dating back to the 16th Century! Our olives – most of which are of the typical Ogliarola type – are cared for by our local farmers with passion, love and respect. Olives are harvested with traditional methods to ensure low acidity as well as the respect of our century-old trees. Our extra virgin olive oil is obtained with state-of-the-art mechanical methods.
