Our producers are artisans. The passion and perseverance of traditional values in the making of fine foods is what makes them and their produce stand out from the rest. Most of the producers we work with are running small family businesses that have been passed down from generation to generation. When Agostino started out the company back in 1890 he focused solely on the producers of fine foods in Sardinia. As he travelled Italy and found others with a similar passion for the cheeses or charcuterie they were producing, the range began to branch out to other regions.

What you have today at Vallebona is the best produce available in Italy assembled in one place. The producers and their families have been connected to the Vallebona family since the company’s birth in the late Nineteenth Century. We are happy to tell you about the producers of each individual product, quite often there is an interesting story to be had about each of them. For example we rather like the idea that one of our alpine cheese producers has his families’ quarters above the cattle shed in the winter, whilst the cows are in from the snow being nurtured before summer feeding, then milking and ultimately the making of our Fontina.

It is our producers that make us what we are and we bless them for their eccentricities and passion for what they do, it’s what sets us and them apart.
