Acciaierie Valbruna is a private and fully integrated steel mill. It is one of the largest stainless steel bar producers in Europe. It has two major manufacturing bases in northern Italy. One site is based at its international headquarters in the historic city of Vicenza and the other is based at Bolzano, in the beautiful Italian Tyrol.

Our comprehensive product range includes ingot, billet, rod in coil, round, hexagon, hollow bar, square, flat, angle, channel, reinforcement bar and wire. The mill produces over 600 stainless steel grades including duplex, nickel alloys and titanium.

Ongoing extensive capital investment has introduced E.S.R (Electro Slag Remelting) production which complements the continuous casting and ingot pouring methods. This helps to meet the ever increasing requirements from demanding sectors such as aerospace, subsea, offshore and nuclear markets. Valbruna have also invested in R.M.D.S (Radioactive Material Detection Systems) and Portal Monitors to guarantee the safety of the Valbruna workforce and our customers, against any radioactive contamination. We can guarantee that all of the Valbruna raw material (steel scrap) only comes from the Italian market via established supply routes and we have SAE / EHS official environmental statements to confirm this safety claim.

Valbruna’s expertise throughout every aspect of production including forging, rolling, grinding, testing and dispatch ensures the highest quality steel. With the mill being audited & approved to the latest ISO 9000, AS9100, D.N.V, Cares, Ontario, D.I.B.T, Augusta Westland approvals and TUV standards. It means that our material quality can be guaranteed to suit all major customer applications.

Acciaierie Valbruna products are stocked and distributed in Great Britain by Valbruna UK Ltd which is a fully owned subsidiary. Its West Bromwich headquarters opened for business in 1986, with two further service centers opened in Manchester (1990) and Sheffield (2001). Market pressure demanded increased activity in stainless steel reinforcement bar and reinforcement markets. In 2002, to meet customer design requirements for cut and specialized formed bar, a dedicated sales team was created within our West Bromwich office to cope with demand from the U.K construction related industries. Specialist forming and bending machinery was installed at the West Bromwich site.

The Valbruna Group globally and in the UK in particular, are committed to meet the highest demands of our valued customers and markets. To re-evaluate our standing with our end user customer base and with our stockholding / distribution industry in general, a major review of working practices’ within Valbruna UK was undertaken.

Customers were canvassed, purchasing motives studied, material / grade requirements were investigated and we researched many more topics including kanban, JIT, scheduling etc to meet the industry demands as a key supplier and industry partner.

Valbruna UK and our customers came to the same conclusion. Valbruna provided a superb product range of stainless steel long products. We could supply the many grades of stainless steel that modern manufacturing required including the MaxiVal range of improved machinability grades. Additionally we found that the extensive stocks held in the UK and Italy, as well as the unique production range was more than enough to satisfy our customer needs and for new growth into growing market segments.

In 2004, a decision was taken to invest and install high-density vertical storage, together with new forklift trucks and access equipment for narrow aisle racking. The new warehouse facility means that the overall service levels are continuously improved  giving customers immediate access to over 1500 tonne of stainless steel long products including rounds, flats, hexagons, hollow bars, squares, angles, reval reinforcement and wires in a full range of stainless grades plus titanium and nickel alloys. Valbruna’s ongoing objective is to provide its existing customers with an efficient sales organization, maximizing the facilities of the new warehouse and offering the best possible service which is delivered by an experienced sales team that specialize in the full range of Valbruna products.

This is the start of a major investment program for Valbruna UK and shows Valbruna’s commitment to its U.K customers. It strengthens Valbruna’s competitive position within the UK. This is the start of a new exciting episode for Valbruna.
