It was 1893 and in Milan, near Porta Romana, Carlo Borghi founded Olympia. In the beginning not only bikes, but also motorcycles, and then was to the cycling that Borghi dedicated passion and energy. With the Olympia black jersey, Enrico Mollo, came second in the Giro d’Italia (1940) and Pietro Chiappini won the Milan-Torino (1941).
In 1960 the brand went into the hands of the Fontana family, which transferred its production to Veneto. Today, Olympia takes on the wheels and in the heart over two centuries of cycling passion. From dawn it has changed a lot, starting from the modern 4400 sqm plant of Piove di Sacco (PD) where the present reality operates, but the legacy of Borghi remains: passion, sport presence (in particular with the award-winning Marzio Deho and the Olympia team), technology and valuable details.
Today’s Olympia is an international reality, award-winning for its design (Expobici Innovation Award 2013 and 2014 and various ADI Design Index), appreciated for its high-tech chassis and innovative, innovative solutions that it can propose public. The brand has joined the prestigious brand Frera and Scapin. Olympia gives value to the past but looks to the future. The 2015 range presents the best technology solutions available today with the unmistakable Olympia design.
