Mr Lorenzo Garagnani is Consultant orthopaedic hand and wrist surgeon in London.
He qualified in Medicine and Surgery at Bologna University (Italy) then he trained in Trauma and Orthopaedics in the Bologna Specialist Training Programme. He is Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Work experience in Italy
Following completion of his specialist training, in 2009 he worked as Specialist hand surgeon at Humanitas Clinical Institute in Rozzano, Milan (Italy). In 2012 he was appointed Consultant hand and wrist surgeon at the Department of Hand Surgery and Microsurgery of the University Hospital Policlinico di Modena, where he worked until 2015.

Between 2007 and 2008 Mr Garagnani completed his sub-specialist training in hand and wrist surgery in the UK, where he was Hand Fellow at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of the Oxford University Hospitals, and at the Hand Clinic in Windsor. Between 2009 and 2012 he worked in London, as locum Consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and as Hand Fellow in congenital hand anomalies at the renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. In 2015 he was appointed Consultant orthopaedic hand and wrist surgeon at the Orthopaedics Department of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, where he carries out his regular clinical work and surgical procedures, and his activities also include supervision of and teaching to Specialist Trainees and King’s College medical students. He is author of numerous scientific publications and is a regular speaker and faculty at national and international conferences and courses.
Mr Garagnani treats the whole spectrum of adult and paediatric hand, wrist and peripheral nerves of the upper limb disorders.
