Since 2003 he has been living and working in the UK, carrying out both clinical and research activities. He worked for 3 years as research fellow at the Multiple Sclerosis Centre of Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford University. Since 2006 to 2011, he carried out a PhD in neuroscience at Imperial College London; his research project was funded by the Italian MS society. Between 2011 and 2013, he worked as research fellow (postdoc) at Imperial College, funded by the UK MS society.
