TERMS & CONDITIONS

What happens after I have registered/signed up for the basic free White Listing?
After filling out your username and email and clicking “Sign up”, you will receive your Username and Password via email, with which you can log in to access, modify and create your business page with complete independence. You will not need to go to PayPal and you will not be asked for any payment registration or the details of your credit card.
Once you have created your business page, you can send it to us for approval with one click. Follow the instructions that you will find on the portal on how to create a business page.

What happens after I have registered/signed up for the paid Green or Red Listing?
After you enter your username and email and click on “Pay with PayPal”, you will be taken to the PayPal page where you can set up the agreed monthly payment in simple steps.
After registration, you will receive your Username and Password via email, with which you can login to access, create and modify your business page in complete independence.
You will be able to create and save a draft of your business page, but you will not be able to ask us to approve it for publication in our directory if you have not already completed the step in PayPal.

How long will it take before my business page is approved and published in the directory?
We strive to approve business pages within 24-48 hours after receiving your request. The acceptance will be communicated to you via email.
If we should not be able to accept your business page for some reason involving its non-compliance with the terms and conditions of The Italian Community, we will contact you via email to discuss this.

Can I choose my position in the directory?
It is not possible to guarantee a specific position in the directory search results, which are dictated by various technical criteria set by the software that manages the database.

How often is the payment transaction performed for the paid Green and Red Listings?
The transaction for the paid Green and Red listings is performed on PayPal monthly.

Can I suspend/stop a paid listing?
The transaction for the paid Green and Red Listings is performed on PayPal monthly.
You will be able to stop the monthly payment by contacting us at info@theitaliancommunity.co.uk in order to stop the recurring future payments from the month after you communicated your intension of suspension to us.
It will not be possible to issue refunds for the months used previously, and your business will be downgraded to the White basic listing.

Do you offer refunds for the paid listings?
Refunds will not be possible for months already used if the cancellation of the listing is for reasons related to your business. Refunds will be issued only in cases when evident malfunctioning of the portal can be established, and we will do everything possible to understand the reasons for this and proceed with a refund for the period during which the portal did not function correctly (we reserve the right to perform technical verifications).

How does the placement among the “featured” businesses work with the upgrade to the Red Listing?
Placement among the “featured” businesses is made by technical criteria dictated by the software that manages the directory. At the moment, therefore, it is not possible to guarantee a specific position or to intervene in this placement.

My request for addition to the directory was not accepted, but I already made a payment via PayPal.
If we should have questions about your request for approval, we will contact you via email to ask you for additional information and, in case we cannot accept it and you had already signed up for a paid listing, we will issue a refund as soon as possible.
Some of the reasons why we may not be able to accept your request:
– My business is not Italian and it does not sell Italian products, but I have an Italian employee. Unfortunately, having an Italian employee does not justify entry in the directory.
– My grandfather was Italian, but I am not and I do not speak Italian, and my business is foreign. Unfortunately, having only Italian heritage without being Italian or speaking our language does not justify entry in the directory.
– My business is not Italian, but it sells some Italian products. If the majority of the products you sell are Italian and your business is therefore clearly Italophile, then it will be accepted because you can offer a contribution to the Community; conversely, if you sell only a limited number of Italian products (e.g., Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose) and in fact you are a foreign business, we will not be able to accept your application.

Do you keep data from my credit card?
No, the payment transactions are managed exclusively by PayPal. We do not have access to any data related to your credit card or bank account.

How are my data processed?
The Italian Community carefully follows the measures required by the authorities to abide by the regulations on personal data processing. Read more in our Disclaimer/Privacy Policy section.

A business that I contacted through The Italian Community is fraudulent or no longer exists.
All business pages must be accepted by us before being published. Unfortunately, however, we cannot have total control over the fact that, for example, a business may cease to exist. Obviously, we will do what we can to assure ourselves that a business is not fraudulent, but we cannot assume responsibility for this and we ask for the Community’s help in this regard.
If you have any questions about a listed business, please contact us immediately.
